Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War -its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis. In doing so, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy, born on February the 12th.

Το 1863 υπέγραψε το διάταγμα για την κατάργηση της δουλείας, ενώ από το 1861 είχε ξεσπάσει ο Αμερικανικός εμφύλιος πόλεμος. Δολοφονήθηκε από τον Τζον Γουίλκς Μπουθ, ενώ παρακολουθούσε θεατρική παράσταση. Θεωρείται ο πιο σημαντικός Αμερικανός πρόεδρος - γεννήθηκε στις 12 Φεβρουαρίου.
